Azinger selects Stricker, Holmes,
Mahan and Campbell

United States Ryder Cup captain Paul Azinger has named his four wild-card picks for the Big Match with defending champions Europe at Valhalla Golf Club, Louisville in Kentucky later this month.
They are: Steve Stricker, J.B. Holmes, Hunter Mahan and Chad Campbell.
"I like what we have here," Azinger said.
Then he admitted that the Americans as a team, coming off back-to-back record nine-point losses, and without Tiger Woods for the first time in a Ryder Cup since 1995, were clear underdogs in the match that begins on September 19.
Those who must have just failed to get in via the captain's pick included D.J. Trahan, who had a four-putt and shot 80 in the final round of the Deutsche Bank at the weekend while in contention, and Woody Austin, the co-star of the 2007 Presidents Cup, who had a pair of 66s in the middle of the Deutsche Bank but closed with a 75.

Those in the American team who earned their places through the qualifying system are:
Stewart Cink
Ben Curtis
Jim Furyk
Anthony Kim
Justin Leonard
Phil Mickelson
Kenny Perry
Boo Weekley
