Start of Senior British Open at Royal Troon

Greg Norman struggles to 75 while
Tom Watson cruises to a 70

Pre-tournament favourite Greg Norman's odds against him winning the Senior Open at Royal probably went out to about 50-1 after he stumbled to an opening round of 75 today.
The 53-year-old Australian who might have won the Open at Royal Birkdale on Sunday with a little bit of luck looked tired and in no mood for pleasantries.
In contrast, one of his playing partners, American Tom, defending the title, hit 18 greens in regulation and cared a one-under-par 70 with 17 pars and one birdie.
Watson won the 1982 Open over the Royal Troon links.
"I remembered some of the shots I played back then," said Watson, who is two shots behind early leader Bruce Vaughan.
Norman was four over par after only eight holes. But he did birdie the 13th and 17th.
Craig Stadler had a hole in one at the famous Postage Stamp seventh where, famously, Gene Sarazen also had an ace several years ago.
Norman will inform the USGA on Friday whether or not he will play in next month's US PGA Championship at Oakland Hills, for which he earned an invite on account of his Birkdale exploits.
