Russell sets Prestonfield record
of 65 and Oldcorn equals it

Christopher Russell broke the Prestonfield Golf Club, Edinburgh course record with a five-under-par 65 today in the stv Prestonfield pro-am.
Later in the day Andrew Oldcorn equalled the new mark.
As joint winners, each player earned £1,000, what you might call a grand performance by Russell and Oldcorn.
Russell, representing RAW Golf Course Design, had much the steadier round of the two. He did not have a single bogey and birdied the first, second, seventh, ninth and 18th in halves of 31 and 34.
In contrast, Oldcorn (Kings Acre) bogeyed the sixth, eighth and 17th but more than compensated with an eagle at the seventh and birdies at the first, third, ninth, 12th and 16th and 18th in halves of 32 and 33.
Paul McKechnie (Braid Hills) steered Team Murray Scotia to victory with a net score of 15-under-par 55 in the team event. The amateurs were: Willie Murray (handicap 13), Derek Blyth (18) and Ian Blyth (16).
