Saltman, out in 30, just outside

top 10 in Russian Open

At last former amateur ace Lloyd Saltman is beginning to show what he can do as a professional. Today he shot the lowest front nine score of the week to steal some of the headlines on the third day of the Inteco Russian Open, a European Tour event with a Challenge Tour-class field.
The Scot climbed to 11 under par after a superb run of birdies on the first, second, fourth, fifth, seventh and eighth holes which took him out in 30.

Saltman finished in 66 for a 54-hole total of 205 - six behind Swedish leader, Mikael Lundberg - and in joint 11th place with Sunday's round to go.
