Campbell Elliott makes it £2,700
in 2 days with Murcar Links win

Haggs Castle professional Campbell Elliott ran into a bit of good golfing form this week and boosted his bank balance by the best part of £2,700. On Thursday, he won £650 as the top pro in the team-only prize list at The Carrick on Loch Lomond pro-am.
Today, he won the top award of £2,050 in the Grampian Houston Junior Fund pro-am at misty Murcar Links, so misty that the start had to be delayed a good half-hour and the pace of play was slow until the haar lifted.
Elliott's six-under-par round of 65 included an eagle at the 14th and birdies at the fourth, fifth, sixth, 12th and 17th with only one bogey, at the 10th. He won by two shots from David Orr (East Renfrewshire) with six players sharing third place on 68 - Graeme Lornie (Kings Links), Chris Campbell (Carnegie Club), Dean Robertson (Mearns Castle), Paul McKechnie (Braid Hills), Lindsay Mann (Carnoustie) and Brian Maston (Drumoig).
Campbell Elliott also led the River Oaks No 3 team of Petet Fluor (8), Steve Lasher (10) and Frank Hevrdejs (9) to victory with a net score of 17-under-par 54 but only after a card countback with another team with the same total - Ferguson Seacabs' trio of Tim Sheehan (9), Steven Fereguswon (11) and Mark Paterson (18) with their pro Kenny Walker (Castle Park). Elliott's team won it on the better net inward half.
The proceeds from this annual pro-am followed by a prizegiving dinner at The Marcliffe Hotel fund the biennial 10-day trip by a dozen North and North-east boy and girl prospects to the Houston area of Texas.
